| Not like other Megadeth songs aren't questionable, but this album has a little too much violence and hatred throughout the lyrics, not to mention they're kinda lame to begin with. I thought Dave Mustaine claimed to be born again? If so why is he writing about giving people columbian neckties? |

| Thought: Maybe he is just *mentioning* it. And.............................. Not *advocating* it. Comparison and analogy: The Bible has an awful lot of *mentionings* of some really nasty and horrific things. But................................ Such things (in the entire context of SCRIPTURE and Christian theology and teaching, and Christian understanding of GOD) are not really *advocated*. (And i'm not here to nitpick OT and SCRIPTURE references and intent and/or interpretation so.......don't bother *calling* me on it. I won't reply. I think you get my point with the comparison/analogy made) Short version.................... In the lyrics to this album does Dave just *mention* stuff......or does he *advocate* it?? There is a really, really big difference IMO. I've not got this yet. It's on the Wizard's *short list* though. _________________ "The 'farce' is strong with Sith Lord Obama-Wan." words of Scourge.

| What is the point of mentioning it? If he were to write a song about having premarital sex, would that be ok if he were just mentioning it? I like megadeth a lot, but that track in particular you shouldn't and can't reasonably defend. And there is a big difference in the books of the bible depicting "nasty and horrific things" in order to tell a story. Many of the Kings throughout the Bible did horrible things, of which God expressed His objection. It all comes down the fact that murder, a direct commandment, should not be the subject matter of a song of which there is no implication that the author is using it to convey a point. The song is completely and utterly about violence and murder, and we as Christians should avoid listening to such things. |

| Acceptance and condonation of this sort of material by those who don't know Christ isn't suprising, but those who do know the Lord, to explicity defend and advocate such malevolent subject matter, it counteracts the word of our God, and the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. As trite as it may sound, ask yourself "what would Christ think of me listening to such music?" I'm not condemning anyone, but trying as gently as I can to provide a message that you may need to hear. |

| Its in the context of sleepwalking dude...its not like he's telling people to kill someone. Good grief. Read the lyrics to Never Walk Alone and tell me Dave isn't a Christian. Furthermore, everyone is at different places in their walk. It may be that as God works in Dave's life, he wouldn't write these lyrics in 10 years, but where he is today, its okay. As for me, I don't find much of anything objectionable from what I've heard. That chorus to Never Walk Alone though has been stuck in my head several times and has actually encouraged me already. |

| I don't know what it is....I like a handful of songs from 'Deth over the years and I repsect the hell out of Dave Mustaine....but I just was never into Megadeth the way a lot of Metal fans seem to be.... |

| Honestly I was only into the first couple of albums when they came out...I never really listened much to Rust until the last 5 years or so and then I started to really respect Dave's abilities and recognized his impact on the first Metallica album and upon the metal world. |

Exactly. Mustaine often tells stories or describes bad stuff in order to make a point about it. Same with scripture, when I was younger I had a real problem with books like judges. Had to realise that something being written in the bible didn't make it condoned by God. |

| I'm trying to decide if I want to get a copy of the album now or wait a few months for the inevitable "special edition" version that Roadrunner is notorious for putting out. |

The same person made both these statements. Make up your mind.
Either condemn people for doing something you are certain that *all* Christians should refrain from doing, OR... simply say that you want nothing to do with it but are not convinced that everyone MUST do likewise.
Don't try to have it both ways. |

| That song is about violence so I think it fits well in the real world we live in. I don't really see it as condoning anything. I liken it to a Grisham novel, where it tells the story but makes it sound nasty not glorified. It's good to make note of things and I appreciate your concern. It shows you are thinking and caring. |
