I guess I've been making threads like this because I can't think of anything else to say...anyway...

Does anybody like Tool? My girlfriend's dad and one of my best friends got me into them, so I have AEnima and 10,000 Days, both being great.

10,000 Days is one of the worse discs that I own. It's so boring and useless and I hate all the lyrics. I do however LOVE Aenima and Lateralus! I have no use for any of their other albums. Where the hell is Chris??? His ears should be burning by now! Smile

They just suck! The lyrics on the other albums are intriguing, but lyrically, 10000 days blows chunks! The music is even worse.

Yeah, I dunno, being around it all kind of gets me into it.
Hence the KoRn, Rage Against the Machine, NIN, Tool, Pearl Jam...

TOOL are awesome as far as musicianship. maynard sucks but i love tool. especially since i am a drummer. danny carey is right up there with the few best drummers. i like their creativity and darkness, but their lyrics suck usually. another band made worse by the singer. but they are one of my very few favorite bands. along with OPETH, EXTOL, MY DYING BRIDE, DAYLIGHT DIES, FATES WARNING.

I would readily listen to Opiate and Undertow over and over again until I die than have to listen to 10,000 Days. Like I said, Aenima and Lateralus is where it's at!!

I've never bothered to purchase any of their music, but, I rarely turn them off if I hear them on radio.

I saw them live once. This was a disturbing experience. Neutral

The music is okay, imo. Lots of hi-profile musicians REALLY digg them.

I find their overall hateful vibe too icky/boring to listen to. If I wanted hate in my music, I'd go and listen to some NSBM or something.

To the dude hating on Machine Head and Opeth: They are great bands! I suppose you don't like Himsa or Meshuggah, either?

Tool musically and lyrically are genius, unfortunatley, not Christian-friendly though.

I like Aenima but that's about it.

And the lyrics are definitely questionable (except the part about California falling into the sea )

Actually, that was a quote from somebody to me here, and I kept it on just to tweak the guy. Dunno if he's here anymore, though. And I'm not here much either, so, it evens out.

Himsa's okay, only heard a couple songs of their's, though. I seem to remember they broke up, right? I loved Matt Wickland's work on Warrel Dane's solo album. Meshuggah's Destroy, Erase, Improve is incredible.
