Caught up with a mate today that I haven't seen for years - I always nicknamed him "Mr Impellitteri" because what he didn't know about the band isn't really worth knowing! To give you an idea - he currently owns close to 70 assorted discs associated with Impellitteri and stays in regular contact with various past members of the band.

He told me today that he is almost 100% sure that Rob Rock is re-joining Chris again to sing for Impellitteri! On Chris' site it states the following:

"The new IMPELLITTERI recording titled "Good and Evil" is
proceeding nicely. We are recording at the Village Recorders in Los
Angeles. Also, there is a BIG SURPRISE as to who is singing in the
band!! Beware!!"

My mate says that this is referring to Rob, and let me tell you, if he is wrong then it would be the first time he's ever been wrong about news concerning the band..

Could be HUGE!!

While I would be very excited about this, I hope Rob continues to release solo discs as well. It was my understanding that Rob originally left the band because Chris did not want him "competing" with Impelliterri.

Please, God, no!!!!!!

Rob has been SO FAR SUPERIOR to Impellitteri since he's been out on his own. Man, I hope this isn't true.

Would be cool if this were true. I really liked
Impellitteri with Rob Rock singing. Haven't liked anything they have
done as much since he left.

As for Rob not doing his solo stuff, why would you guys worry about that? Just because he sings on a Impellitteri albm doesn't mean he won't continue doing his solo stuff.

With him possible rejoining, we'd probably be getting twice as much Rob with both Impellitteri and Rob Rock solo discs. Could be sweet! Metal up!

The discs with Rob blow the doors off anything with Graham Bonnet, anyway... looking foward to this.

I agree with Ult - I don't think he will give up on his solo career but I too loved Impelllitteri with Rob fronting, and I'm sure he will prove to be an awesome influence on Chris spiritually as well as musically! (Chris still professes a Christian faith according to my mate btw..)

I don't know?.....I think i prefer Rob's solo cds - loved all of them, and for some reason i haven't really gotten into Impellitteri's stuff.

If Rob does rejoin them i doubt he will do solo stuff much.

Rob has been putting out solo CD's regularly. If he rejoins Impellitteri, he'll be doing albums with them, and touring with them. He will not have the time to do solo albums with the same regularity that he does now.

For those of us unimpressed with Impellitteri, but that love Rob's solo stuff, this is bad news, if true. I'm still hoping its not true.

I just sold Eye of the Hurricane. The guitar sounds so generic. Rob's solo stuff with Roy Z. annihilates anything Impellitteri has ever done, with or without Rob.

I don't know that it would be massive, him rejoining still won't make people figure out how to pronounce the name and help them become huge. Laughing

I can't imagine being underwhelmed by Impellitteri...but to each his own.

I think Rob Rock joining him would be fine (RR is among my all-times favorites) but I for one LOVED Pedal to the Metal so I don't see this as being that massive...however, if Impellitteri keeps that same guitar crunch and absolutely brilliant work AND has RR singing his aggressive best it could be something truly truly special (is if their other work together isn't!)

One more vote for cool news! I think Impellitteri is excellent, but with RR, they are AWESOME! I'm thinking we will get twice as much RR this way.

Echoing what a lot of others have said...
It would be cool, but I seriously hope Rob doesn't give up his solo career to do it.

We'll just have to wait and see.
