| is there such a thing? D and I were talking yesterday and in our discussions of everything music, we briefly touched on this - I Googled and Wiki'd it and could find nothing - any of you experienced gee-tar players ever hear of such a thing? _________________ Forever stronger than all....through Him!

| No such thing as a satanic riff. That would be like saying all majestic power metal riffs are christian. |

| I knew this dude, whose Uncle had friends who had a son who was a friend of a missionary in Africa and they used devil riffs as part of thier ceremonies. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles. | Lets see what Dave Mustaine has to say about this... | Quote: | The music will always stay the same. It's just like these boneheads who say something is satanic or Christian music. Music is music. It's the lyrics that are satanic or Christian. The f***ing little black and white spots on a page - they don't know what they are. It's a note. Like some of these death metal bands who have great music, but satanic lyrics. What they need is Barry Manilow in there to write some stuff. |
You heard the man. Get Barry Manilow to write lyrics for those brutal technical riffs. _________________ "When I get hold of the big bad wolf I just push him under to drown Then I bite him in a million bits And I gobble him right down"

| My friend's husband (who was a very talented guitarist) said there was such a thing as a satanic riff and that he would not play it (he had recently gotten saved.) This was not the first time I've heard of such a thing, so Tex and I decided a thread on here should answer the question. Thanks for putting up the thread, Tex! I totally got sidetracked yesterday and forgot to. |
