Some of the money that was loaned to the band was used to buy instruments and personal items for the band members for the Once Dead tour (picks, strings, drums sticks, logos for the bass drums, etc.) As well a ton of merchandise was purchased. However, the instruments were not 'sold' or given to Roger as part of the deal when he took over the name. Thus, the ethical part comes in to play. Should they have surrendered those instruments that they purchased for that tour?
Had they done what they wanted to do, which was sell off the remaining merch, play a few more shows and record a final CD, then lay the band to rest, they could have payed off the debt, kept their instruments and none of this debacle would have happened. Unfortunately, it didn't go that way. This is what is discussed on the Once Dead DVD.

| I thought all this happened years ago, so how could the money have been loaned for the Once Dead tour? It must have been kept somewhere for a long-time before Once Dead existed and then used it? Or was the equipment etc. bought years ago when the money was originally loaned to VR? |

You're joking, right? The Once Dead Tour refers to the tour for the album, Once Dead, not the subsequent band of the same name. |

| Um...sheep? I think Sir Shred was being just a *tad* facetious with that comment. I could be wrong, but I doubt he was really expressing a belief that Swedes are mentally challenged because they don't speak English. Lighten up. |

| I recall an interview I was involved in with Roger Rising himself. It was the time in between the 3rd and 4th Rising albums were released. My buddy, who owned a metal radio show on a local college station, and myself interviewed Rog. Roger made it absolutely clear to us both that he willingly and knowingly took on the VR servicemark, future royalties and debt relating to VR as the other founding members were leaving to pursue other musical directions. He made it clear that he was VR, so to speak. Roger was not deceived. He got screwed, not by his former bandmates, but by the contract. He simply thought he could make it work, but it didn't. Just like many other bands out there that have tried to make a go of it and couldn't make ends meet. It happens to bands under contract all the time since them olden' days. Royalties are as elusive as the rock star dream that many have. There is no controversy. There's one bitter, drug-addicted loudmouth. God love him too, because I realize I am one step away from where he is. But for the grace of God go I. |

| Did Roger get paid royalties from the KMG re-issues? Who owns the rights now to all those VR "imports" on Radrockers? Or are those just more RR bootlegs? _________________ "It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not."

No firm info, but given the prior history of RR....... _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

| Cliffy--always right to the point. The only possible law suit Rog has is a lawsuit against Coheed and Cambria's Claudio Sanchez for stealing his hair-do. |

That bums me out! When I was new to Christian metal (1998-ish), I bought a bunch of those because it's all I could track down (the internet was still budding, and it was hard to find oop stuff). Sucks that the bands didn't get paid! |

| | Quote: | | This is very out of character for the Rog to accept such an offer (he formerly said he wouldn't do any interviews with Christians until the body of christ paid him the 300,000 they owe him) |
This is the answer that was given directly to me when I asked for an interview.
| Quote: | | However, according to many reputable people Roger is indeed owed a lot of money from former VR members. Those guys screwed him over but good. |
Sorry Norm. Your way off base here. I have done the research. Thats just straight up incorrect info, not even close to reality. I think Ult and Hawk Of May nailed it pretty much. I'll leave it at that. |

| Yeah, that whole "speak English" post was a joke. Sort of like the country of Sweden... I'm just kidding!!! Stop!!! I love Sweden. In fact, I spent a whole bunch of time last week defending Scandinavian countries in a thread in the political room here at the CMR. |
