| I had fairly descent seats but I was not on “the floor”. My wife and I were in the middle on the first level, the best place to hear what is going on. Styx played first, they did an awesome job. The sound was good everybody in the band did a great job, especially Tommy Shaw. Styx played mostly there more guitar based hits. I don’t think the keyboard player was the original guy, even though he looked a lot like him and sounded just like him to. The members of Styx had a great light show and the band seemed really excited and showed tremendous showmanship. Even though I don’t own any Styx cd’s I do consider myself a fan. I turn it up every time I hear them on the radio. I don’t know all there songs but I could name a couple of there songs off the top of my head. After seeing them on Friday I will probably get there greatest hits cd, and if I ever get the chance to see them again I will. They totally rocked. The main reason I wanted to see Boston was that I heard Michael Sweet was on tour with them. I also consider myself a Boston fan, I did want to see them but Michael coming with them sealed the deal. When Boston came out the music sounded great, but you could barely hear Tommy DeCarlo singing. Some of it was probably the sound guy but it didn’t sound like Tommy was really singing out. Tommy sang the first two or three songs, I was kind of bummed I didn’t know if Michael was gonna get to sing any at all. When Mike did start to sing the verse of one song he sounded great, he sung out, every note he sang was very clear and pronounced. Then Tommy started to sing the chorus, I’m thinking this is so silly. To make a long story short the whole night went like this. Mike did a great job on “Amanda” but he couldn’t sing one song all by himself, here comes Tommy busting in wanting to show he can sing to. The problem I had with Tommy is he sounded like his throat was gonna give out at any moment, his voice was real scratchy any he couldn’t sing any of the real pretty parts of a song. To me Tommy sounds a little like Boston’s singer but he doesn’t have the chops or the experience to work the crowd, actually he just stand there when he does sing. Its hard to believe this guy is the best Boston could find. What is even more amazing is that the guys in Boston don’t see what a great talent Mike is. He was all over the stage, he got the crowd pumped he had great showmanship. Also Mike jammed on the guitar. His singing was absolutely amazing, it didn’t matter how off tune someone was when they sang Mike was spot on tune. Mike did a great job but I just couldn’t bring myself to stay for the encores I heard enough of Mr. DeCarlo ruining my favorite Boston songs. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t stay for the encores. Maybe Tommy just had a bad night, I don’t know. I can’t see myself going to another Boston show, but I wish the best to Mike, Boston, and Tommy. This is just my opinion. |

| Thanks for the review. That does sound disappointing. Exactly how I was hoping this tour wouldn't turn out. I don't know why Michael is wasting his time basically being a rhythm guitarist for these guys. I'm not a big Stryper fan, but I like their live show a lot. It's a shame he's got to work on that tight of a leash. Probably won't get Murder By Pride, but I definitely hope to catch him in action on the next Stryper tour. _________________ Love Bomb Baby!
