| I have recently picked up "The Warning" and "Operation: Mindcrime" by this band. I intend to soon get "Empire" as well. I had never heard "The Warning" and it had been years and years since I'd heard "Operation: Mindcrime". WOW! I forgot just how great that album is. "The Warning" is okay, but after thrilling me at first its kinda losing its luster. I need to hear "Rage For Order" as well to see if I like that one. Any fans of the band here? Any fans of newer Queensryche (mid 90's to present)? From what I've heard, I hate modern Queensryche. Discuss! |

| You're just now hearing "The Warning"???? Their older stuff is awesome, and their newer stuff is horrible. |

| About Rage For Order, it took me a bit to really get into it... but once I did, I loved the album. It's a quirky album, with some odd production and general strangeness, but it's my favorite album by them... There are some straight ahead rockers, but it may take you a bit of time to get into it... give it a chance. |

Same here. I didn't care for it when I first heard it, but it is my favorite QR album now. Even ahead of O:MC |

| RFO is my favorite also and I love through Empire. Mindcrime II is decent but not as good as those early days. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles. | Favorite metal band of all time!!! (80's-early 90's) When they were at the top of their game it was a "heavenly" experience. Geoff's viewpoints turn me off but man their music and his voice was incredible!!! Now they are _________________ KingsRite

| There are a few good songs scatterred on those later albums, but the best songs there would be filler tracks on the early material. Everything up to and including Empire is stellar, IMO, but after that... not so much. _________________ “If you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up. | Queensryche is a classic example of a band with loads of potential to become one of the most powerful progressive metal bands ever......and they quickly threw it right out the window. The only 2 that are worth owning, IMHO, are the EP and The Warning. _________________ A Wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins, nor is early, he arrives precisely when he means to

| The first three full-lengths are all classics in their own right. Quite frankly, The Warning and Mindcrime are the strongest of the three, and only because there is a weak pop cover on RFO. The Warning is a classic example of American-styled power metal (patterned after the big British groups). Mindcrime is the band in ultimate creative potential while still having some of the spirit of the older albums. I don't necessarily like what followed right after, but there is some good stuff. Clearly, you already like Mindcrime, so just hang in there on The Warning. It's quite a staple in my collection. _________________ "He had discovered Time and Death and God"-Aldous Huxley
