| I'm talking 'bout groups that are typically on the lighter side of rock or even pop-oriented that seemingly out of nowhere came out with a song that was heavy metal. Whiteheart - Inside Petra - Minefield Geoff Moore - Londontown I'm not trying to limit this to Christian artists, but those are just the first 3 that came to mind. |

| I guess it depends on where you draw the line on what is rock/pop and what is heavy metal. I've been here long enough to know that isn't always the same for everyone, but I'd say something like: Journey - Chain Reaction Aldo Nova - Fantasy or Monkey On Your Back Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger Drivin' And Cryin' - Fly Me Courageous I might think of more, but my head is killing me at the moment... |

| Journey had SEVERAL songs that headed into "metal" territory. I'm still attempting to work a cover of "Separate Ways" done in the vein of Dark Tranquility...... _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

The new Warmen album has a cover of Separate Ways that I think works quite well. It's actually the only reason I bought the CD because I hate Journey but I wanted to see what a metal treatment of a Journey song sounded like. _________________ "The banner of loud and rebellious music will never die. The whole Place To Stand album by Geoff Moore was VERY different from his later stuff....much heavier than "The Distance" too! "The Distance" was MEGA hard to track down. Both are GREAT discs! Again, On Fire was another disc that was much heavier than a lot of other Petra cds. Hit You Where You live STILL gives me chills whenever I hear it. _________________ A Wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins, nor is early, he arrives precisely when he means to

| YES had a few that were fairly metallic. "Real Love" from Talk (1994) had some pretty heavy palm mute stuff going on. "City Of Love" from 90125 (1983) was a heavy one. "Machine Messiah" from Drama (1980) is an awesome prog metal track as well. Also The Beatles' "Helter Skelter" deserves mention IMO. |

| I always did love Janet Jackson's song "Black Cat" featuring Vernon Reid on guitar. _________________ “If you make less than $250,000 your taxes will not go up. | I think Whiteheart's 'Let the Kingdom Come' or U2's 'Exit' would've sounded great heavier..... Petra - Jekyll & Hyde, Perfect World Not metal, but 'Somebody's Gonna Praise His Name' would've been cool by (early) Plankeye or Ace Troubleshooter ...OK. I know I'm gonna get it for this, but I think Stryper came close a few times......*runs and hides* |

| Sweet Comfort Band got pretty heavy on Contender. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles. Yeah, I remember hearing it for the first time and thinkin how much heavier it was for them. _________________ I'm not going to taste you to verify if you have bad taste or not, but let's just say I strongly suspect that you do.
