Today and tomorrow you can buy the entire Night Castle album by Transiberian Orchestra for $3.99. This is the entire album and is not a trial or anything, it is the whole 2-disc set plus the bonus track.

For $4, I decided I wanted it now not on CD. I'll pick the CDs up later. I have listened to the whole album and I must say that it is a good deal for $4, but if you spend the price for the CDs, you might be disappointed. There isn't anything new or groundbreaking on the whole two disc set. Pretty blah upon first listen. I have heard some of them played live at the Christmas concert over the past couple of years and there are a couple of new Christmas re-makes, but it doesn't seem to flow very well and doesn't have anything really outstanding. Good material for a first or perhaps second album, but not for a 5th album. I expected more.

Is Night Castle a Christmas album, or more like Beethoven's Last Night?

I saw them last year for the first time, after that I decided that it needed to become an annual event. I got my tickets for this year the day they went on sale.

I like the new album well enough, but Nazpastor might be right. Nothing earth shattering, but still good.

It is not a Christmas album. It is a concept album, but I have not had a chance to read the story that goes with it.
