http://melodicrock.com has given the new Journey disc a rating of 97/100!

I do hear the U2 influence on that song. I like it. It's interesting and gives their classic sound a unique twist.

'been there'? which one? Stay away from www.atu2.com and most at www.u2.com

I have almost 200 bootlegs - Lovetown tour was the best, IMO.....

Back to Journey - I'm really getting into Never Walk Away and Change For The Better....

u2liveconcerts.com is a great place for bootleg CDs and DVDs. I've bought many from him and not been disappointed. I have some really early stuff on DVD and VHS that I am transferring to DVD soon as I don't want the tape to go bad.

U2start.com - membership is free and you can download via rapidshare - its faster if you subscribe to rapidshare, but you dont have to. The one rule there is that they cannot share anything 'official' - no albums or singles or anything like that, but anything live is fair game.....

I have to say after 4 spins now I really like the new journey cd. I really like the sound a lot and the songs keep your interest. I am not sure i would rank it higher than alliance or bro firetribe just yet but it is a good outing for the band.

This may sound odd, but can a CD grow OFF of you? (No, I don't mean like a tail or something...!) Seriously, the more I hear of this, instead of growing on me, I find myself picking it apart more and more. I think I am going to put it away for now and revisit it in a week or so.

Did anyone here feel that the new disc sounded 'muffled' a little; I mean did it feel like the vocals were coming across clearer than the instruments? Just wondering.

The majority of fans seem to agree. If you go to Amazon.com and look at customer reviews (which I like much better than critic or editorial reviews) you will notice several people saying this is the best cd since "Frontiers". Which in turn means several people liked it better than at least two of the Steve Perry era discs. Personally I think the songwriting is better than Raised On Radio. This would have been a great and logical followup to Frontiers. Pretty much every single review has agreed that it's better than the Augeri-era material which while good seemed like it always contained some filler and was sometimes convoluted. This new one is all killer. No filler.

Yup - vocals sound like they have been tinkered with and have alot of reverb on them. In fact the reverb is very high on the remake disc.

I'm likin the new tunes though....
