............I've been on a GC jag for weeks now. My 15 year old screamo boy has even gone and put "My School" on his IPOD while still telling me how crappy they are..........ah, callow youth!...................

.........I love the whole Sam Taylor produced sound, be it Kings X/Atomic Opera/Awful Truth/GC. Saigon Kick at times has the same kind of vibe.....

Galactic Cowboys are one of my favourite bands ever. I even got to see them live in London back in the 90's - small venue, great show.

I really wish they would re-unite for real.

Is Alan Doss going to be part of the reunion? They were great when I saw them in '98, but they would have been better ff Alan had been there.

The announced line up will be Monty Colvin, Alan Doss, Ben Huggins and Wally Farkas. Dane Sonnier has been invited to play too, but Monty, Alan, Ben and Wally ARE the Galactic Cowboys, and they are the ones taking the stage!

Well, I'm not sure I agree 100% there (that's ok though...we can disagree!)...may I suggest to you all (especially Galactic fans) to subscribe to Monty Colvin's podcasts. The early ones feature reviews of all the GC albums (and don't fret...Monty has gotten a lot more enthused since the first episodes!) plus he talks about his new project "Crunchy" and the state of music in general...his more recent podcasts are quite funny and entertaining too!

Spoke with Monty today. Dane has been invited to participate, and Monty thinks he'll play a few songs with the rest of them. Houston gig very likely, the other shows possibly!

Space in Your Face remains my favourite GC album, and Dane played on that one. Still, I suspect that my (slight) preference for those earlier GC days has more to do with Silas' production than Dane being in the band (though I think he was great).

Albums after Space are great (especially At The End Of The Day, my clear second fave) but I do tend to prefer the thrashier rather than the grungier Gc.

I only listened to a song from Crunchy, but it sounded quite good. I'll need to get some of their stuff sometime.

BTW - Wasn't there a kerffuffle with Crunchy a few years back? Something silly like the former drummer accusing Monty of having sacked him for being too fat or something?
