In college I'm taking Russian, and as a result I developed an interest in the Russian music scene. I figured that there's undiscovered talent and an untapped scene in Russia, and I was right! There are some really good groups that are worth a listen.

The Rose Will Decay: A group that I think successfully splices techno and metal together. Their instrumentals are very exciting to listen to. I don't know whether to headbang or rave.

Scartown: A Melodic Death Metal/Metalcore Band that is Russia's answer to Children of Bodem.

Aria/Ария: They are the granddaddy of Russian metal. While the west was listening to Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, the east was listening to Aria. Believe me, the musianship is up to speed with those two groups.
