| It seems the last couple years have produced more of this style of music than ever before and IMHO most these bands are quite a bit better than what we had in the 80's. Most people here already know these bands but if you don't please give them a try. If you are into melodic rock, melodic heavy metal or straight AOR check out some of the following bands: Allen/Lande House Of Lords H.E.A.T. Kamelot Work Of Art Harem Scarem Brother Firetribe Khymera Elevener Action Pink Cream 69 Empire Firewind Brainstorm David Readman The Poodles Last Tribe Starbreaker Alliance Silent Force Gotthard Jaded Heart Michael Bormann Leverage Cloudscape Jorn Land Of Tales All these bands have their own MySpace sites. Tons of great stuff on this list if you like catchy hooks and songs with big sing-along choruses. One reviewer recently wrote that the new Michael Bormann cd is what White Lion or Bon Jovi would sound like if they still had that spark. _________________ "It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not."

| I'm not seeing Kamelot fit in at all, but here's some more that people won't check out (links): Praying MantisRoyal HuntWinterbornExcalionKeldianMagnitude 9Only the first fits in the melodic ROCK category, the rest are metal, but all have gigantic AOR threads making up the sound. _________________ Dark motions, black eyes, and mournful lust, the wings of solitude ...I'm the hateful raven

| I've heard a lot of that stuff and I don't think it's as good as 80s melodic metal/rock. |

| What do you think of the song 'Last Train To Hell' on the Winterborn page? I feel very strongly about that band in particular and would like to see them get more attention. They got rid of a few of the other songs from their debut that were extremely 80's in nature, but that's still there and should be enough to get an idea. They had the opening song, 'Wildheart', up there, and it's like a calling card for the whole genre. It's like TNT mixed with the Scorpions with little flashes of power metal. _________________ Dark motions, black eyes, and mournful lust, the wings of solitude ...I'm the hateful raven

| Hm, the new clips seem to be in a different direction than the debut.... regardless, the debut is what it is. _________________ Dark motions, black eyes, and mournful lust, the wings of solitude ...I'm the hateful raven

| Mantis has 'Best Years' on their MySpace...that one is a really good one...written by Dennis Stratton. Check it out. If you like melodic rock and AOR, you will want the album after you hear the song a time or two. _________________ Dark motions, black eyes, and mournful lust, the wings of solitude ...I'm the hateful raven

| Line Of Fire is great. So is Danny Vaughn. You're missing out here, Norm. Traveller is great. _________________ Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are. - John Wooden |

| I am ashamed that I forgot those in the list. Have you heard Danny Vaughn's new project From The Inside? http://melodicrock.com/showcase/fromtheinside-visions.html _________________ "It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not."
