We could probably do this all day long but I find it interesting. I see a lot of similarities in these two.

Gotta go with Deliverance. It's one of my all time favorites. "Beneath the Remains" is great too.

I like Deliverance, but . . . WOW did I LOVE Beneath the Remains. It's just TONS more fast, brutal, and technical than D. Which, in fairness, I don't think Deliverance was trying to produce the same sound that Sepultura did, but for SURE BTR for me. Of course, also in fairness, that was my favorite Sepultura and NOT my favorite Deliverance. It's harder if it's Weapons vs. BTR (although Sepultura still has it), but then if you put Weapons vs. Roots or something like that, I'll take D for sure. Anyway . . . .

I ultimately choose Deliverance because I've had it much longer and there's a little nostalgia with it for me. Musically, I find it pretty hard to compare these two. Sepultura is definitely the heavier, faster, and more brutal of the two, but that doesn't mean it's better than D. _________________

The debut is my fave Deliverance and I love it. I also really like BTR... but as other people have mentioned, they are not that comparable musically. _________________ I have vague plans for World Domination

Totally uncomparable! (Well, perhaps not totally, but pretty uncomparable to me at least.) But uhm.. for me any Sepultura album from Schizophrenia to Nation beats any D record. Easily. But BtR, man.. Deliverance is not even close! Weapons neither. Actually, combine the whole D catalogue and it's still not better than Beneath the Remains. Thank you.. _________________

I don't even know how this comparison was even thought of being that both bands are completely different styles. It would be a better match of say Master of Puppets vs Weapons of our Warfare.

| Deliverance for me... One HUGE reason is I don't particularly like that Sepultura disc, but I LOVE that Deliverance disc. This topic has made me decide to pull out Roots by Sepultura today... | Wow! My thread lives. You're right they're not exact styles but listen to them back to back and you hear a lot of similarites. That's all I was saying. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles.
