Best Pantera Album of All Time???

Ok all of you metal freaks...this is one I always argue with my friend..Far Beyond Driven or Vulgar Display of Power. My all time favorite is Vulgar because it captures the entire essence of Pantera..blues, classic metal, & hardcore punk that swings & grooves. I am going to list here in order..I love all of the albums.

1. Vulgar Display of Power
2. Far Beyond Driven
3. Great Southern Trendkill
4. Reinventing the Steel
5. Cowboys from Hell

My list is exactly the same as yours.
Vulgar was more consistent than Driven I reckon (Good friends and a bottle of pills is not one of their best tracks Evil or Very Mad

While I dig any and all PanterA - I'd have to say that V.D.O.P is by far the best PanterA ever did - their cover of Poison Ideas "The Badge" was awesome and so was their song "Puck Off" for the Dallas Stars hockey

What would you consider for the pre-Anselmo stuff? I dig I am the Night and - even tho it's Phil's 1st record with them, I dig Power Metal - some gritty tough metal right there - my faves off that disc are Proud to be Loud, Over and Out and the last track - and that's all I'll say about that heh

Vulgar Display Of Power for sure. I have them all (well from Cowboys and beyond) though and all are great.

Well the topic does say "of all time" so I'm going to have to go with Cowboys as #1, but then #2 definitely goes to "Power Metal." And then VDOP. After that I don't rank.

While I do still listen to some of their stuff I dont honestly see where a Christian should listen to them all the time.... or would even want to... I understand that some of us grow to a point to where some things dont bother us but could someone please explain to me how you can listen to something that really attacks your faith and you yourself for having that faith and not be bothered?

WV, I view music as a story and the band is sharing theirs. I don't listen to Pantera a lot, partly because of some of the lyrics but I realize they are giving their world view and because I know mine is true I don't feel swayed by what they say. I wouldn't recommend a steady diet of this stuff, especially for new believers.

Those two are pretty much tied for me right at the top. I guess today I picked a different one.
