| I like Nightwish, Within Temptation, Battlelore, Dark Moor, Epica, Rhapsody Of Fire, Sonata Arctica, Apocoliptica, Therion, Mortal Love, Eyes of Eden, Edenbridge, Theater of Tragedy, Sirenia, Xandria, and Lacuna Coil....wow that was a logn rist THREE CHEERS for anyone who read it all! Does anyone know a reason why a Christian shouldn't listen to any of these bands? I just want to be sure I'm not listening to a band that has extremely low morals or associations with cults. Thanks in advance |

| Ask GOD to show you if there is anything not pleasing to him. Do some lyrical research. Plenty of sites for that. There are some good christian power metal bands I didn't see on that list. _________________ KingsRite

| You'll get a hundred answers here that say something different. Some draw the line at christian only and some draw the line at no immoral lyrics and some, like me, draw the line at blaspheming my Lord. Lyrics tell a story and may reflect the bands world view, so you need to ask if you feel like they influence you in negative ways? You need to pray and seek God on this. A lot of the bands you listen delve into sci-fi, fantasy type lyrics a topic i'm ok listening to. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles. I concentrate on spotting and weeding out satanic paper, handkerchiefs (do you really want Satan that close to your nose?) and eggs. I can spot satanic eggs at Wal Mart like a frickin' drug sniffing dog.

| Dont ask us dude. The only way to make a decision about what you should/shouldnt put in your mind is by seeking God and hearing from the holy spirit. |

| I realize what you are asking, Zebulinn, and its a good question, worthy of an answer. However, the opinions on this subject run from "anything goes" to "Christian only" and all points in between. If you truly want others' opinions on this issue, I'd recommend you find a poster or three that you find that you agree with on other spiritual issues, and ask them thru private messages what they think about the question at hand. However, if you are in the scriptures each day and on your knees before God, He will reveal to you what is okay and what is out of bounds for you. |

| None of us can really answer this question for you, dood. If the Holy Spirit convicts you to stop listening to them, then you need to stop. You won't be able to depend upon the practices of others, because, and to quote from Romans, what may cause one brother to stumble may not cause another to follow suit. |

Exactly. I'd also like to add that it also depends if those bands will make you stumble as a Christian. When I first got saved over six years ago, I was very sensitive to what type of music I listened to and had questioned whether or not should I even listen to certain bands. I see now that I the music I listened to was so connected with the lifestyle that I got saved out of, that I would've stumbled. I ended up throwing out quite a bit of my music. Now that I've been walking with the Lord longer and know Him better, I am more comfortable with listening to certain bands that a lot of Christians might not listen to (like Iron Maiden, Dio, Ozzy, etc.) because I'm at a point in my walk where listening to these bands will not make me stumble. |

| http://www.darklyrics.com/index.htmlThis is a pretty good lyrics resource you should be able to find lyrics for anything you're looking for. Honestly as we all pretty much have said you should base your decision on your relationship with God, and where you feel you draw the line. I used to listen to only Christian based bands a few years ago but now I listen to pretty much anything, unless it out right attacks God, or is clearly Satanic. |

| If you're not singing old hymns with a pipe organ, it's of the devil. _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass |

| Yeah, didn't you get The Memo? In Paragraph 4, it specifically states that the only acceptable form of music for a true Christian to listen to is to hymns written in the 1800's, accompanied by piped organs. Don't even think about using this emoticon , this one or even this one . They're devil signs ya know. Praise God for the Jesus Movement.....otherwise we'd never have any Christian metal. |

| It's ok to use guitars, but dont flip it to over drive or it becomes satanic! And don't use/wear the skull & cross bones - they are of the debil too! Also, don't go for the modern praise and worship - it's just pablum they use in the emergent church movement Well, that did it - I need a one-way ticket to H-E double hockey sticks - preferably a window seat please.... _________________ Forever stronger than all....through Him!
