That's probably the best answer I've heard, however try telling Paul Washer or even John MacArthur about your music collection!

LOL! I love John MacArthur's teachings, but yeah I have no doubt that he or Paul Washer would have a legalistic fit if they saw my music collection.

Bwahahhaha!!! I forgot.....they'd have a serious fit if they saw my avatar! For all they know, that could be a delicious, refreshing non-alcoholic drink I could be holding (though it' not.)

Don't get me started on what they would say about the tattoo on my wrist.

Great game, Tex! But darn it, it has to end even before the game has begun....

Candy's right....it's Jagarmeister. It was New Year's Eve 2008 and I told my friend in Texas (Angel) that I'd have a Jagar for her that night and take a pic. I did keep half that promise by having the drink and taking the pic. I could only handle two sips of the drink before giving it to my friend who went out with me that night, she drank the rest of it. I don't like the taste of liquid black licorice. Bleh.

When I was in The Doors tribute I drank a lot of Jagar, to get drunk quicker, I did not care much for the taste.

Wich brings me to the theme of this thread, I recently got rid of most of my secular rock collection, wich was quite a bit. Looking back now I'm not sure if I acted in haste, but what's done is done. Time to focus on my relationship w/God in Christ, the music will then take care of it's self.

Maybe if the drink tasted like a smooth and creamy milk chocolate candy bar (or even Belgian chocolate), I would've chugged the drink.....but black licorice? Ewww. That's just so....wrong.

Yup, Washer and MacArthur might say I'm going to hell, because of the incrimnating picture of me holding a drink in a toast. Bad bad bad, D!

*D slams her fist on the table and raises her voice, much like how Paul Washer slams his fist repeatedly on the pulpit and raises his voice when he preaches.*

I struggle with this question alot myself. I don't klnow what the correct answer is. I love everything from The Bealtes to Pantera to Tori Amos to Hatebreed and everything in between. Should I not listen to John and Paul sing about love and peace because they weren't a Christian band?

When it comes right down to it I don't think our tastes in music is really gonna be a big factor on the day we meet our Lord.

I've wanted to comment upon a couple of things in this thread for awhile now......and just never got around to it. Now I shall. As well, Bribanez added something to which I want to give him a *Kudos* for.

Bingo.

Thanks dude, we agree more and more I see...haha.

To which I say.....you still have time to run and hide dude. Flee. As you and I learn we are more alike.....soon you shall become a part of *The Collective* and you will be assimilated.

Yeah, didn't you get The Memo? In Paragraph 4, it specifically states that the only acceptable form of music for a true Christian to listen to is to hymns written in the 1800's, accompanied by piped organs.

Don't even think about using this emoticon , this one or even this one . They're devil signs ya know.

Praise God our salvation is not dependent on the types of music we listen to.

I remember hearing Pastor Chuck Smith say a few months back that he does not see how mosh pits at a Christian metal concert can glofiy God. While I love Pastor Chuck Smith, I found this rather odd coming from the man who let hippies in his church, allowed guitars and drums to be played as worship music when it was looked down upon, and was really instrumental in opening the doors for other forms of praise music, including Christian metal and Christian rap.
