So do animals have souls?

Its time for that debate again, do animals have souls? I believe that since they have emotions they do. Something like a plant for example, cant show you love or be loyal to you, but an animal can, and since to love one another is the greatest commandment then IMO they do have souls. Plus, why would God have created them on Earth? Before the fall its not like they were used for food after all (since there was no death in the world until sin entered in).

What are your favorite bible teachers? Who are the ones who have really guided you in your bible studies, whether they're pastors in your church, or bible teachers you see on t.v. or the radio?

Most of my favorite teachers are John MacArthur, Chuck Swindoll, Brian Broderson, J. Vernon McGee, Charles Stanley and Paul Shephard.

All these great men of God boldly proclaim the truth and tell it like it is.

Chuck Swindoll in particular has a way of explaining the scriptures that ...

Few people seem to understand that God also curses people and their families.

(Exodus 20:5-6) "I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Genesis, Chronicles and Kings, for the historical content, as I love history.

Genesis especially intrigues me, because there are some unsolved mysteries in that book, such as who are the Nephilim? Or that Methusaleh's name means "when he is gone, it will be sent" i.e. the Flood, because the year Methusaleh died, the Flood came. Another thing worth noting is that Methusaleh lived to be 969 years old, ...

I collected Christian metal for from 1996-2003, and started listening to secular metal in 2003. I was a Christian from 1990-2004. I lost my faith for a while, then in 2006 I was a convinced Universalist. In 2008, I was convinced deist. In Dec. 2008, I was a convinced atheist. ...

yeah I think this verse is in 1st Corinth? Paul was talking about exorsising freedom. Where exactly is he going with this? I know we as Christians have to stay away from certain things such as fornication, idolatry, reviling, and such but how far is this freedom supposed to go?

As I was driving a couple of days ago to the church, I was taking a different path than I usually do--one that comes in from the highway at the far end of town--and I crested a hill and noticed something, from the other side of town, at least four or so miles down, past several turns, I could see the church--my destination--quite clearly. Then, as quickly as it was there, it was gone. I had a few minutes to think on this, as I drove the rest of the way to the church, and the message just formed ...

Has got to be my favorite book in the whole bible. Don't get me wrong, the whole Bible is wonderful, its just that anytime and I do mean ANYTIME, i have started to get discouraged as in like, what I'm doing now (getting back in to the Christian lifestyle) I have always found something encouraging in Romans. I would have to say my "as of now" personal favorite scripture is Romans 8:1.

I am by no means a bible scholar, however I always thirst for knowledge.

Quote:2 Corinthians 12:2 (King James Version)

2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

Can someone kindly explain the concept of three heavens? I've heard a couple of theories that were completely different from each other and am curious about your interpretations.

Questions about sin and emotions

Was thinking about how we were made in Gods image. So I Was wondering if our emotions are the same as God's. We all know God "Hates"sin. "Loves" us. God can be "sad", like when "Jesus wept" God is a "jealous" God and expects, no demands our 100% devotion to him. We also know God can and will not sin. Now my question is, Is being Jealous a sin? Is being bitter a sin? Are there emotions we have that are sinnful?......Is Lust an emotion or a condition? ...
