| Wow. A blast from the past just sent me a friend request and it was Mick Rowe of Tempest, Goliath, and Midnight Orchestra fame. I always loved the Rowe Brothers ( Mick and Jamie both) and did a few shows with both Tempest and Guardian. He is now going by Mickey and he has a country / southern rock album in the works called Micks Redneck Riot. Check him and his new music out at www.myspace.com/micksredneckriot

| This thread is amusing. Mick Rowe's new country/southern rock album is not. I'll pass......i've got some hard rock/heavy music/metal to listen to. _________________ "The 'farce' is strong with Sith Lord Obama-Wan." words of Scourge.

| I can think of quite a few people on here who came to his defense when he was being accused of "you know what" a while back. Now it seems that everyone is all shocked about his new musical and lyrical direction.....i think it's safe to say Mick is further proving he's no angel. In fact, he seems quite proud of his behaviour. |

| Maybe he can tour with Sebastian Bach who is doing a country album also. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles. | I like the sound he's got going w/ this stuff. Good cover of "Long Haired Country Boy". Granted, it's not metal or hard rock, but it's got more soul than most of the current "country" music out there. |

True, but it's not a difficult task. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles. I can't believe I'm actually taking up the argument FOR country music. Wow. Anyway, you must consider the audience for each style of music. Country is generally directed toward folks who simply want to have fun with the music. Country fans are not, by and large, "collectors" like metal fans are. Have you heard Brad Paisley? Sucker's REALLY good. His songs are not deep, but they are light-hearted, generally speaking. And for folks who simply want to enjoy a fun song, he is great for that. Plus, he can play the FIRE outta that gee-tar of his. There are other examples of this, but I will agree with you that there are country artists with no apparent sense of "soul". |

..not a huge country fan by any means, but if a country artist had a "sense of soul" what would that mean to the music. I'm playing devil's advocate a bit, because I think there are just as many rock bands how are "souless" as well. I think the music industry has a lot to do with it. Just sayin'!... |

| Jailhouse name? So much for being respectful eh?? Changed musical styles? Have not done that in years but I guess you know more huh?? I write for MTV, VH1, Dog The Bounty Hunter and hundreds more. So, I write several styles. Mickey is my legal name..so not really a name change. Is slammin me and anyone else that doesnt meet your standards the usual around here? I am not doing anything more than being myself. If you don't like me or my music..Don't buy it. many many many others will.. Make a big deal about me and how bad I am and how your not gonna support me... It makes for more sales lol. Ya know.. Non Christian forms are a LOT more adult that CCM forums..why is that? Well, That is my ranting. I am sure just like everything else that "offends" you will delete this post. You are allowed to sam.. but usually not allowed to respond to the jerks that hide behind a keyboard..Bet you wouldn't say most of these things to my face..That is sad. Ya know.. The jail thing.. It was all dropped after I moved my tattoo shop to another town. They made me sign a release that I wouldn't sue the prosecutor or the county after saying in court.. "we have NO evidence of any of the charges". But I am sure you knew the whole story didn't ya? Ya know.. I could ruin a LOT of your "metal heroes" with the truth about a LOT of them.. But I am not that childish.. But just know.. Most are NOT what they seem. ya know.. I am almost 42.. Had to grow up and realize that I am who I am. Country and Southern Rock is what I enjoy..so I write, play it. I grew up and stopped the whole Metal thing. Do I slam you for still listening to silly childish music that takes no talent to play?? Maybe I just did. |
