| I'm a huge fan of this band's first two records. Their first one, Sweet Destiny, is my favorite; but its follow-up, Dying To Live, was almost as good. Sweet Destiny is a classic hard rock album to me. There are so many great melodies on that album. The guitars are thick and crunchy. The lyrics are probably the best part. Check out "Decent Souls" and "Here I Am Again". My favorite song is probably "Deceiver". One other aspect of this gem is the singer - Lee Guthrie. I've not seen anything of him since this album; but he's a great vocalist. Dying To Live was a different sounding record. The first obvious difference is the singer. The new guy is good, but not anywhere close to Guthrie. The songwriting actually improves on this release! I would LOVE to have heard this album recorded with Guthrie singing. I digress. The songs here are really strong. The lyrics get a bit more introspective on this one. Brian Lutes, who wrote most of the songs, clearly has a message to tell about the trials and pain of unbelievers out there who need Jesus badly. The songs here are catchy and well written. The one exception is probably "Brand New Man" which is just kinda weird. This album also has a really different kind of song, somewhat of an epic (for Siloam) called "Welcome to Despair". Its a really well written song, both lyrically and musically. I love the way it builds to a crescendo that gives me chills. Any other fans of this great band out there? |

| I love both of those albums. Anything they did afterward has been total poop. _________________

| | I remember Brian saying that Lee Guthrie quit to audition for Motley Crue. Seriously. I, too, wonder what that guy is doing now. |

| | I love both those albums. I actually thought that Brent Milsop (singer on Dying to Live) was slightly better. There was a post awhile back on the CHM realm about one of the guys in Siloam now doing to country. Don't think it was Lee Guthrie thou. I'm always on the look out for the third relase "Crock" but can't seem to find it anywhere. I have heard it wasn't as good but I wouldn't mine getting my hands on it. |

| I too am a fan of the first album over the others. It's probably because I've listened to it much, much more than the others. My favorite songs are "Here I Am Again," "Eastern Skies," and "Deceiver." I like "Sweet Destiny" a lot, too.
I remember enjoying the second release a lot, but it's been so long since I listened to it that I just don't remember specifics.
And I don't remember a thing about Crock. I think I listened to it once after buying it...maybe. I'll have to give it another go now. I was surprised when checking the collection to find that I didn't have the fourth album or the best-of. I thought I had bought those during my binge. I'll have to pick them up eventually.
I'm glad you were able to get your hands on Sweet Destiny, Follower. I remember in the other post how frustrated you were. _________________ "Real life doesn't fit into little boxes that were drawn for it." - Elijah Price

| Oh, the first album is easily the best, I agree. LOVE that disc! Arttie _________________ Constitutional separation of church and state is a lie; it is a figment of the secular-progressive imagination.

| I think the first two albums are both fantastic, never heard any of the others. Unlike many of the others here I would pick the second album over the first (but not by much). _________________ -- Peace, that brief moment in history when everyone stops to reload.

| Can someone hook me up with a burn? I have the first two on cassette, and I've transferred them to CD, but they don't sound very good. If someone could hook me up, I'd appreciate it! Drop me PM if you can! _________________ "Look deep inside, and when you locate the sadness, give it a vacation, and focus on the simple things." --Larry Norman |

| I really could not pick between the two discs. They are so different from one another, but they both are stellar. I'm gonna have to get these out and spin them this week just because you guys brought them up. _________________

| | Anyone hook me up as well with a burn of the first disc. I had the tape a long time ago and after reading about Siloam on here, I am sort of forgetting what they actually sound like. Thanks!! |
