Sullen Records is proud to announce the addition of Nashville, TN based ERASMUS to our line up.

ERASMUS having just released their debut EP, "Sanguinus Nocturnus" for EEE Recordings is hard at work on recording their follow up full length album for Sullen Records which will be release in Early 2009.

The full idea behind ERASMUS is best described by the bands sole member, M. Owen...

Erasmus as a sonic form of art means to explore and explain the unexplainable. It is to construct character and emotion that is beyond words. Sometimes this is a vessel to carry fear, insecurity, and sorrow, sometimes it is a plea for peace, sometimes it is a call of alarm....but above all, Erasmus is a project that looks to God's truth as a way of comfort and protection from the ways of the of man. / Erasmus was never meant to be music for the christian elite, but art that can be shared and appreciated by all. Because I know what it is to be cast out, criticized, and misunderstood...I refuse to do the same to those who have wronged against me. This is why I call on my brothers, christian or not, to join me in this project and count yourself among the legions of the forgotten, the mis led, the tortured and torn and refuse the sickening nature of the humanity. Together we wait and sigh for the ever-looming destruction of mankind under it's own weight...and together we will find comfort in the absence of man, but too many seek the end and demand nothing more. Erasmus proclaims the end as the begining and cries out that Jesus is God and will love and keep his own. / If you have been hurt by the church and wronged in name of God, know that I have too. The same difficult questions that you ask, I have asked too. There is no room for hatred or judgement in this art project from christians or from non-christians. It is for everyone who will listen and enjoy. As opposed to those in the "unblack" scene, I will not perpetuate a war, I will atone for the wrong done on behalf of the church and in the name of my God and I will offer my hand as a brother in the black metal scene. My faith is strong and my purpose is clear, there is no need to completely appease both sides of this religious spectrum, so all I ask is that you appreciate my music in what ever way you feel comfortable. / If you feel compelled, send a message to me, I would love to talk. -M.
