| Hi I just found this forum the other day. I'm a Christian and a little bit of a metalhead... but I have a real hard time finding Christian Metal bands or any that are actually good (well... to my liking) =/ I'm looking for a Christian metal band or two to really be able to get into. Most of what I've found is either just blah or just suck. I'm sure there are good ones out there I'm just really bad at finding em >.< (Most of what I find even in the secular stuff I find from either finding similar videos/songs on youtube or when I buy on Amazon or somewhere, It says if you like this you may like blah blah and I'll check out new bands that way.) Generally I like Power, Symphonic/Melodic, Gothic, and Folk/Viking metal (Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Kamelot, Eluveitie, Ensiferum, Sirenia, EdGuy, Sonata Arctica, Xandria, Tristania etc). And maybe some symphonic black/death stuff most of those I tend to stay away from cause of content. Though I may find a song here or there like I loooove Cradle of Filth's Nymphetamine but noone I could fully get into much (I don't like supporting flat out anti-Christian or satanic themed bands which most of them seem to be). I do really like Holy Blood (their last.. 3 albums?) but I wish they sang in English a sometimes... A little hard to really get into when you can't even understand them and "sing-a-long" Best Christian metal band I've come across by a long shot though. |

| My band has a demo which is mostly finished but will have the last touches put on it in terms of recording/mixing when we have more $$$. But here's a song in it's most recent form: https://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=394511A063663788(just click on the orange button to get the file) All I know is it's some form of power/classic metal. Non-typical, lower pitched but still controlled vocals. But it's the sort of thing where it will never have 100% in common with other slightly similar bands, and thus fans will be annoyed. I just write whatever I write. Maybe you can help in classifying us or comparing bands with us so I can get pegging on this marketing buzzword thing? _________________ Dark motions, black eyes, and mournful lust, the wings of solitude ...I'm the hateful raven

| Hey thanks! I'll have to dig a little deeper into some of these, nothing jumps out really and blows my socks off yet but... its a start Anything real epic though?! I like big and epic or dark and poetic I forgot to mention I do like Virgin Black but I could never get into Savior Machine... I'll give them a second try though... haven't really checked them out for a while. |

| You have great taste in metal! Kamelot is one of my favorites. . . we're going for that vibe in SL. . . should have something done later this year. Whatever you do - don't listen to our old demo stuff. Completely different from what we are doing now..... |

| Try listening to The Cross Stream, my Christian metal internet radio station. I play almost all the bands that have been listed on this thread. Go to www.live365.com/stations/cinflames and click on the yellow speaker. You have to register first. ._________________ |

Oh ya!! I love Slechtvalk!! But I was never sure if they were a Christian band... I heard they were and then heard they weren't. But yes Slechtvalk is awesome!!! They're actually the band that got me into the gruff vocals and all that folk/viking metal stuff like Holy Blood, Ensiferum and Eluveitie (infact I think I discovered one or two bands of those from links on their website a couple years ago) |

| Not Christians but Wintersun is the band of Ensiferums original singer and Turisas does the folk-battle metal well. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles.
