| The new cover is ok but i much prefer the original cover....A classic cover! I made a t shirt of it years ago....still have it lying around somewhere. I think i will still get the boxset - for the remastered 'pillars' cd and for the total package and the extra 2 songs that came out in 94. _________________ "To love God you must first hate him"

| Thank you ultmetal. I totally agree. Woulda looked fine for Zao or someone like that, but not The Crucified. Just doesn't work at all. |

| Good. Because i didn't care for the box set version with that drum machine snare sound. I liked the original mix way better! All they need to do is bring out the bass guitar and kick drum a little... |

That version sucked!!! The vocals are way too up front and the snare drum sounds fake. |

| | Quote: | I wondered this as well, though they probably wanted people to purchase the boxset over a straight re-issue. Think of it the other way around. You buy the "Pillars" re-issue, then 3 months later a boxset comes out with all the Crucified material remastered and repackaged - wouldn't you feel a little burned by that, when you could have paid $5 more for everything? I sure would. So this makes more sense than doing it the other way around, from that perspective. For folks happy w/ the T&N re-issue of the S/T and "Nailed/Take Up Your Cross", if all they were looking for was "Pillars" they might not have wanted to buy the boxset. This is a good alternative for them.

I just wanted the original remastered with maybe the two "unreleased" songs as the bonus tracks. |

The band Strong Arm comes to mind. |

| Good move to release it individually I reckon. I'll stick with my boxset version, but I can see there being a market for this. |

This.
However, I'm in the camp that believe the new cover art is FAIL!_________________ ~VeiL of DisdaiN~ "Your suffering will be legendary... even in hell!" - Pinhead |

Yeah, i think the album is a classic and deserves a more fitting "thrash" cover. |

| The thing with the new cover is it only gives the gist of the original but alot of the detailed message in the art is abandoned. Those four pillars of death, deception, strife and greed. The eye in the triangle, the beckoning hand, the suit, city etc, all that detail made it a classic cover. |

| Try to remember, folks...the reason for the new cover is to attempt to sell the music to the younger crowd...that crowd would likely find the original cover to be quite cheesy and, thus, not even give it a chance. We've got the original...what do we care what they do with it in an attempt to market to it the next generation? I'm just glad the mighty Crucified is being given a shot in the modern age. The message within the lyrics of that album are way stronger than most of the heavy stuff that makes the rounds in the Christian circuit these days. |

| I couldn't agree more. Very well said. Personally, I don't like the new cover art at all, but I think you hit the nail on the head. _________________ ~VeiL of DisdaiN~ "Your suffering will be legendary... even in hell!" - Pinhead |

Excellent point. Thanks for pointing that out. I honestly never thought of that! |

| Yeah, the cover is very non-distinct. I really like the old one that I have on my CD. _________________ I have vague plans for World Domination |
