| Does anyone know if there is a CD of the Paradox demos "Meet the King & "Ruler"? I thought I read somewhere that they were remastered and released on one disc. Question #2 - If this disc does exist, does anyone know where I might be able to find a copy? --Pershing-- |

| As far as I know, it never got past the "rumored" stage, but I could be wrong. The demos (especially Ruler) are pretty good, though, so I would love to hear that. | I'm glad that this thread came about. I really love those old Paradox demo's and still listen to my cdr's often. In 1999 Manny Castillo (vox) released a cd called The Wrath in very limited numbers. The disc contained some new tunes as well as tunes from the Power and Glory and Ruler custom cassettes. If those songs were remastered or not I have no clue because I wasnt fortunate enough to get a copy. But as I came across a Paradox myspace page I noticed that the page refered to The Wrath as being released in 2007 by Retroactve, so now I'm totally confused and will probably spend the better part of this day trying to get answers as well as trying to track down a copy for myself. Heres a link to that myspace page with pictures as well as song streams from The Wrath, Power and Glory and Ruler. If I find out any additional info I will post a reply. http://www.myspace.com/paradoxthewrathRock on. |

| Maybe that Wrath release is what you are referring to, Pershing? Arttie _________________ Constitutional separation of church and state is a lie; it is a figment of the secular-progressive's imagination.

| It does sound familiar Arttie, I think I remember it being advertised in an old issue of Heaven's Metal. |

| I have both CD`s, actually it were only CD-R`s with a one page cover pick, not really what I call a quality release. There was no remastering actually the "Ruler" does not even sound as good as the original Demo. Cool are the unreleased tracks on "The Wrath". Hopefully they will offically re-release all their stuff soon, heard around a month ago that they have several offers but have not decided what to do yet. |

| I was there too. That was a great "new band" band stage line-up: Xalt, Legacy, Rapture, Revelation, Iron Wrath, and Paradox. I can't believe that someone didn't sign Paradox...I mean come on! Pure Metal releases "Crux of the mosh" but they won't pick up Paradox??? --Pershing-- |

| Awwwww, I remember this band being so important to me when I was a kid. Of course, they were from my city, so it's only natural. =) Great vocals, great sound... These guys had A LOT going for them. It SUCKS that they didn't make it. ~ saki |

| saki, are you refering to Paradox? If so they "made it" in that they toured with Barren Cross in '89. That's pretty good. I played with them for awhile before Roy Salas took my place. Tim |

| Yeah, I am definitely refering to Paradox. I meant that they didn't 'make it' in the sense that they were never as well known as, say, Stryper, when they definitely should've been. ~ saki |

Wordsinger, if you still have contact with anyone in the band, could you please pass on the thought that we would love to see a CD release?!? It sounds like "The wrath" was released, but in very limited quantities. I own the old demos on tape, but have always wanted to have an "official" recording on CD. If you or anyone could help get the word out, that would be great. Thanks! --Pershing-- |

| Looks like one or more of you need to update some history.. Paradox No mention of a Roy or Tim in the members or ex-members, and no 'Meet the King' demo is listed.. _________________ Dark motions, black eyes, and mournful lust, the wings of solitude ...I'm the hateful raven

| | Quote: | Meet The King is actually a song from one of the demos. Through the ninties demo tapes were being recorded to disc by collectors and sold off to unsuspecting folks wanting the bands material. No harm no foul IMO. BUT there were some tricky peeps that would change the names of the demos intentionally to get you to buy the same demo twice. They would even change the cover art to throw you off even more. Live and learn.
As far as who was in this band, there was a bunch of different musicians through the bands history. I am currently putting together a whole history/bio piece on Paradox. Patience young padawan. Good journalistic work takes time even in these technologically advanced days. After all this band was a mere footprint in a genre that is/was a mere footprint in musical history. |
Great points. I know for a fact that there were many different members over the years. Roy Salas played guitar for Paradox when I saw them in concert. |
