Not really a rumor. Found this article. Notice the line "former Stryper vocalist Michael Sweet". Obviously not true as I'm sure it would be big news in the christian music world if he did indeed leave for a 2nd time. Never have been a Boston fan and never will but the tracks featuring Michael Sweet will probably peak my curiousity.

Depends on if the news had been leaked out yet. Without a press conference, the Christian industry might not even know about this if it is true.

If Boston is going to go full on with a new CD and tour, I could definitely see it pulling Michael in two different ways. His loyalty to one band or the other would definitely be challenged at times.

But, regardless of my speculation, I'll believe the rumor only when Stryper addresses/confirms it. It could only be a misprint on the behalf of Billboard.

I assume that they have referred to him as the "former Stryper singer" simply because Stryper doesn't register on the Billboard radar and is to most people, an inactive band.

I don't see the Boston gig as being detrimental to still doing Stryper.
Neither one would need to be full time. If Oz Fox can do the Bloodgood
gig, I don't see a huge problem with Mike being in Boston.

Michael is in STRYPER! He just did a radio interview and said that any rumors are completely untrue and that he is only doing the Boston stuff on the side. He also said that he can wait for the new Stryper album to come out in August!

It's all good... Michael is out there doing good stuff with Boston for a while---the Stryper disc is in it's final production stages... and we'll be stryped this fall by a killer tour...

I'm no prophet... but I do have a friend who is a connected the the guys and that's the word I hear....
