| Here's one of the songs I've been working on for a while. The song is called "Prodigal" and is written by myself and Tall Tyrion. The guitar leads are done by Lifemetal777, and the vocals are being done by Metalfro. I've still got some work to do on getting the lead vocals synced in properly, but this gives you a good idea of what the song will sound like. www.myspace.com/missionofone (Prodigal is the first song on the player) _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass |

| Needs some of that Tommy Lee cowbell. When this is mixed properly, it oughta be darn good stuff. _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

| WEll, my personal take on it is that the vocals are too far forward in the mix. I think the lead is placed well with the rhythm guitar, volume wise, but it might benefit from dialing the guitars up, and the vocals back a hair. I LIKE what the singers got going vocally, but it's sort of "on top" of the rest of the stuff, and not a part of the whole package. if you've still got a master track of the rhythm, you might want to experiment with the EQ on the rhythm guitar, maybe see if you can "fill out" the tone a hair more. the bass line seems a bit treble oriented as well....I don't know if you'd have to re-record parts to try this or, if you can add it in on the board, but it might be worth trying. Personally, I think the bass tone on the track that follows it up is a far better match for the sound you've got. Maybe you might be able to hit Cliffy up for some advice? or maybe he'd be wiling to see what he could do with the track, and maybe you guys could work out an arrangement? Keep in mind, I've NEVER dealt with mixing stuff (and don't have the equipment to even try), so I don't know what can be done or how to do it, but that's just what my ears are hearing...I'm not a huge fan of the style, and this is honestly the first time I've given your stuff a real, honest listen (because it ain't my idea of "heavy", LOL), but you're better at what you do than you seem to give yourself credit for..... _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

| Exo, you are right that this isn't that heavy. This song, as far as the music goes, is supposed to have a Mad At The World vibe from like their "Boomerang" album. It's supposed to rock, but not too much! The mix is hardly finished. This was just a quick pass to see how it sounded. The vocals are up too high, but that was so I could really listen to see if I had Metalfro's parts in the right spots. Besides, when the final mixdown time comes, I may be handing that over to someone else entirely. So, it's rough, but it's supposed to be right now. I still think there are vast improvements that I can make. _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass |

| Waaay better than the last mix I was sent. Vox sound great. the only thing I don't like is the huge gap in volume between my melodic line and the last fast lick. *also would have liked my lead to not have totally faded out, but I think I understand why you did and therefore won't ask you to change it if you think it's best that way. |

| Cool stuff, If you´re up to it I can do a mix of the song. We´re working really hard at the moment with the new Audiovision cd, but later this year I will have some time. Mail me at torb77(at)hotmail.com if you´re intressted ( ofcourse I´ll do it for free) I'm not mixing the new Audiovision, Erik Mårthensson ( Eclipse etc.) does it, fantastic guy. I think he might be involved as well on the new Giant disc somehow. God bless, Torbjörn |

Kevin, I just dropped your lead there to help me make sure I had Metalfro's singing part lined up. It will be higher in the final mix. I will not fade it back so much there, and I will not boost the volume so much at the end. It will be a much smaller drop.

I might take you up on that, Torb. But, let me get the rest of the CD finished unless you'd prefer to do one song at a time. I'd rather get all 12 songs mixed at the same time for a more fluid sound.
I'll be sending a lot more stuff to Metalfro in the near future for vocals. I just sent two more songs to Kevin, and I have a guy in Nashville named David Franey that will be receiving 2 songs tonight._________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass |

| The track sounds cool man. Can't wait to hear the final mix. I do agree with LifeMetal's comment about the volume change in his leads, but if it's just a rough mix I know what's goin on. Been there, done that. |

| I think i'll like that one once it's cleaned up. Seems more bluesy then your last album. _________________ I don't have time for all if it, so I pick my battles. | Aside from some points of mixing that exo and lifemetal brought up, I think this is good. As a vocalist who's obsessed with harmonies, I hear some spots that could benefit quite nicely from harmonized bgv's (more than what you've got). But the songs rocks quite nicely without those ideas...I'm just too ostentatious for my own good sometimes. Everything is well placed and well played. Can't wait to hear the finished product. _________________ "He had discovered Time and Death and God"-Aldous Huxley

I might just throw the individual tracks at you as they get completed. You still might end up doing them all, but it would not be so overwhelming. I'll try to get this one song to you this weekend and see how it sounds when you're done._________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass |
