My favorite Christian band is Barren Cross because I like their music better than any other Christian bands. Their catalogue is solid all the way through. I might have picked Holy Soldier or Guardian but I don't like the later albums of either of those bands at all.

My favorite un-Christian Christian band is Vengeance Rising. Love the backround story of this band and the personalities it now involves.

for me Stryper hands down...

A non-christian friend gave me Soldiers Under Command, and To Hell with the Devil to listen 2 back in 86 Shocked

The music shook me up a bit. I was deeply into Advanced Dungeons & Dragons wizardy statanic stuff...the understanding that God and the devil are real and that life/Jesus wasn't a joke. Festered...the words and music planted the thoughts/seed. About three years later I basically was given a choice in whom I should serve. Twisted Evil

the reality that God and Jesus were real came flooding in on me. In a moment I understood that my sins were and could actually be hurting others, just as a giant spider web travels out. The reality of the divinity of Jesus Christ and "radicalism" of "The Way" struck me like a tons of bricks or hammer!

Thank God for all of the people that worked with Stryper. My greatest metal band of all time...

Jesus is Lord! can I get an Amen?!

Vengeance Rising, because of the intensity and the ridiculously bold lyrics. Too bad Roger isn't going to ever release anything good again.

My all-time fave would happen to be STRYPER for two reasons:

When I first heard Soldiers Under Command back in '85, I was already into that kind of stuff (Dokken, Ratt, Motley Crue, White Lion, you name it). So, I listened to Soldiers and I was astounded at the amount of talent. Killer vocals, shredding guitars, well-rounded songwriting, raging drums-it was almost too much.

But when I realized how serious they were about Jesus, it really made me stop and think for the first time in my life that He honestly wants us to know Him and love Him personally. That began my walk with Him.

Those two reasons soldifiy Stryper's place in my all time fave category, even though the rest of their catalogue is spotty for my tastes.

What believer can argue with a band who wants to preach Jesus and make true art at the same time?

My favorite band is Living Sacrifice because they have an overall cool heavy sound and I love their lyrics.

My very favorite Christian band has been SAINT......for years now.

I became a Christian, and listened to Christian hard rock/heavy music/metal for years before SAINT ever came on the scene, but since they came around with their 1st album they've been the ones who've gotten the *nod*. Twisted Evil

They just *get it done* for me and I like them that much.
