Did anyone else pick this new Mortification CD up? I like it. They have moved in a different direction from the last couple CDs but they still sound like Morty!

This is another band that the vocals just ruin for me. I'm listening to the samples at DMD, and I will have to bow out just because of the vocal style.

a great album. it mgiht not sound like it on first listen . but after a few spins i am lovely it.

It took me a few listens too, but what I found out is that I was wanting to go back for a second listen, and a third, etc.

I got mine a few weeks ago and love it. And as said in previous posts Steve does need the financial support at this time and it would be a great time for everyone here to give it a listen by buying the CD and supporting true Jesus metal.

Yes, I'm one of the lucky stiffs who was "Im-Mort-Alized" in the digipak for this one Very Happy

Yeah, I enjoy it. It's not their best work, but I'd say on-par w/ most of their mid-period stuff, if not as good as "Relentless". I like the punk edge to the sound, it gives it a feel that is both dated & updated at the same time (if that makes sense!).

I don't mean any offense to Steve, seeing as he was one of the people that i looked up to a lot when I first got into christian metal, but I find it very difficult to stand behind any of the music that he puts out nowadays. This is not in any way because he has lost his spiritual edge, but because the music itself is really subpar at best. I find it very difficult to believe that the message can go very far when secular people aren't even going to give it the time of day because of the lack of really good songwriting. I mean, that's really what his "purpose" is purported to be, is to save souls. I'm not trying to knock the man. I see a lot of comments on here that are trying to find the kindest way possible to be honest about this disc, almost as if none of you want to just come and say it.

That's the reason I haven't listened to Mortification since the early 90's. I had one album by them, and it was okay, but the vocals got old quick.
