Very difficult to chose too many good albums on that list, but I had to go with Sacred Warriors "Obsessions" Hands down my favorite Sacred Warrior album. _________________ -- Peace, that brief moment in history when everyone stops to reload.

| This was shaping up to be a tough decision until I scrolled down and saw Lament for the Weary. then, rather suddenly, it wasn't even close...... _________________ Obama is no more the Anti-Christ than George Bush is Sauron, sending his armies into Iraq searching for the One Ring.....

I get the impression KingsRite likes Bride. I've never been a big fan of the debut from Living Sacrifice. Not sure why, but it never grabbed me. It's been so long since I listened to it that I should give it another listen and see if it grabs me any differently now. I've mentioned before that the only artist that tops Tourniquet as my favorite is Steve Taylor. I'm a big Tourniquet fan. So the choice wasn't too difficult. But I also use CDs as memory traps. That's what I call them anyway. Every CD in my collection has a memory of some kind trapped in it. 1991 was the year my grandmother, my father's mother, passed away, and for the entire trip to and from Eugene (something like 6 hours each way) I listened to Psycho Surgery. That's one of the key memories trapped in Psycho Surgery. An additional memory is trapped in the Metal Blade version that I found at a specific music store when I was on a music hunt with my wife. My memory is slipping, but I have a knack for remembering where and when I bought almost all of my CDs--even with a collection of thousands. Discs like Psycho Surgery have a special place in my collection and my mind.

An interesting year -some classics, and some not so great albums from some great bands. Tourniquet and Seventh Angel release arguably their best albums, Sacred Warrior finish extremely strongly, Mortification change my world, Whitecross is great and Haven get even better. And I'm sure nobody else will agree, but the Xalt disc had some heavy anointing on it and was a favourite for quite a while. It's gonna have to be a three way tie between Tourniquet, Sacred Warrior and Mortification!

Wow, that was tough. Mortification, Tourniquet, Deliverance, Seventh Angel...all brilliant. But I had to go with Living Sacrifice, because that was the one album that changed my unbelieving best friend's mind about Christian metal...and about Christ. He was saved shortly after hearing that album.

You totally forgot The Crucified--Pillars of Humanity. Probably the best thrash/crossover album ever done by any band. I may have even voted for that over Living Sac.

Yeah, I mentioned in another thread how I left out punk and hardcore albums, and therefore Pillars of Humanity had to be excluded. I had considered that album, since I think it's an exceptional album and definitely the best from The Crucified. By the way Sutekh, I love that Xalt album.
