I understand how you feel. I recently purchased a cd from a melodic metal band...love their music, epic songs 6-10 minutes long...but, I only listened to samples from the distro, and their was little vocals on the samples. When I got it I was surprised how much I disliked the vocals...I am trying to listen to it to learn to like it but the vocals kill it for me. I've listened to it 5 times through now, and as I read the lyrics I see the "Christians in a band", but knowing a little about their faith makes me interpret the songs from a Christian perspective. I feel that the lyrics really fit with the music and vocals. If so, the vocals are the downfall. I got rid of that album because the vocalist annoyed me. He just didn't have the pipes.
