It's not really metal but Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War Of The Worlds is an awesome cd.

Dunno if you'd count it as hard rock or not, but...

Alice Cooper - Welcome to My Nightmare Twisted Evil

I've also found these great to cruise to...

Barren Cross - Atomic Arena
Barren Cross - State of Control
Bloodgood - Bloodgood
Bloodgood - Rock in a Hard Place
Deliverance - River Disturbance
Eternal Decision - Eternal Decision
Holy Soldier - Holy Soldier
Holy Soldier - Last Train
Mastedon - It's a Jungle Out There
Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction
Megadeth - Youthanasia
Megadeth - United Abominations
Place of Skulls - With Vision
Rez - Awaiting Your Reply
Rez - Rainbows End
Rez - Silence Screams
Rob Rock - Rage of Creation
Rob Rock - Holy Hell
Rob Rock - Garden of Chaos
Sacred Warrior - Rebellion
Stairway - The Other Side of Midnight
Trouble - Psalm 9
Yngwie Malmsteen - Marching Out

I excluded stuff that tends to give me a bit more of a speed boost (ala Early Tourniquet, Deliverance's Weapons, Megedeth's Peace Sells, etc), lol.

Too many to list.

O.K. Maybe a few. Any FOGHAT album between the first S/T debut and Stone Blue.

Those first 8 FOGHAT albums are just......wow.

I've driven myself, and been in cars driven by others, hundreds and hundreds of miles on Montana highways and backroads.....all to the tunes of those first 8 FOGHAT albums.

High times back in the 1970s.
