| What in the world???? NONE of those is thrash, at least to me! A couple have thrash tendencies, but none are pure thrash. Arttie _________________ Constitutional separation of church and state is a lie; it is a figment of the secular-progressive's imagination.

| I hate that metalcore bands have co-opted the term "thrash". Just like how flower bands have co-opted the term "power metal" when they have very little power or metal in their music. |

| War of Ages is hardcore Thrash, they are more of a thrash band. they actually have good vocals. they rip! The rest of those bands are screamo, emo, hardcore death type bands. IMO

| W/all the merging and sub-genres today, it's hard to tell what anyone's talking about, metalcore has certainly mixed it up w/thrash. _________________ "I'm wrong about fifty percent of the time, I'm just not sure wich fifty percent!"

I agree with you, but isn't it clear from the bands that he listed that he's looking for old school thrash? He's probably just heard some misinformed kids call thrash metal bands metalcore. |

Based on the last part of his description I don't think I would be able to recommend any metalcore band to him. Sure, there are plenty of great thrash bands with good music and decent vocals. But metalcore with good music and no screaming?!? (isn't that an oxymoron?) _________________ -- Peace, that brief moment in history when everyone stops to reload. |

All I meant was as far as I know based off his request he thinks Testament is metalcore. Atleast he knows what bands he likes I suppose... |

| I know I'm gonna get a lot of flak for this, but I find exciting christian thrash extremely hard, if not nigh-on impossible, to find. You see, I am sickingly picky about vocals, and I like my guitar playing absolutely pin-point precise. I find the majority of christian thrash is indifferent to me. Either the vocals aren't my thing, or the playing is too "loose" or the soloing is too mundane or the sonwriting is too parochial or the mix is all over the place. I've been buying and listening to quite a lot of these new old-school thrash secular bands and while some of the are just "ok" I have been pleasantly surprised with what some of they have to offer. Sure, Hatchet is awful and Hyades, Bonded By Blood and Violator are merely ok. But I must admit to having been blown away by Evile and Gama Bomb. I haven't gotten this excited with Thrash since Deliverance's and Tourniquet's early albums. _________________ I have vague plans for World Domination |

| Brazilian Thrash metal band ''ARNION'' rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Arnion in greek means Lamb of God. If you like christian ''THRASH'' DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CHECK THESE GUYS OUT! Imagine the perfect mixture of metalica and anthrax and you have ARNION. IMO. Oldschool Metallica mixed with John bush era Anthrax. That is a killer combination. |

This is simply not true anymore, and is quite ignorant. Just as you can juxtapose goth/metal/doom/epic/power, so thrash has been juxtaposed w/metalcore and hardcore, is that not what Pantera is known for? The Showdown comes to mind for recent bands doing it, as well as Living Sacrifice. _________________ "I'm wrong about fifty percent of the time, I'm just not sure wich fifty percent!"

| I agree with candlemass, A lot of the hardcore bands are thrash bands with hardcore vocalist, not all but a lot. Like it or not it is the evolution of thrash metal. IMO |

| Points: 1. Those Christian "thrash" bands in the first post are......not thrash bands. Ugh..... .....I think not. 2. Thrasher said: | Quote: | The only band on that list that would even have Thrash tendencies is As I Lay Dying

Agreed. The newest AILD album has quite a few very noticeable thrash tendencies.....that is by far the best AILD album IMO. 3. MigMelo said:
