Favorite Christian Metal Releases of 1990

1990 was really a pinacle I think in this whole movement. Building on the momentum of the previous year some much stuff came out. Whether on a major label or not! White Throne was deluged with demo's and discs/records... CD's were much easier to come by but not for everything... (all those pure metal releases!!.. even if they weren't very good... Force 3 for example)

SO there are some obvouisly omitions from this list... One bad Pig/Swine Flu... Bride/End of The Age... Trytan/Sylentiger.... simply because even tho these are great discs (I don't know how many times I cranked 'Swine Flu') I think that the discs listed are more important or at least to me seem to have had a lasting quality. imo. I loved Trytan, and that Bride disc brought us 'Everybody Knows My Name....'

The choices remaining are tough and frankly hair pulling!!!

For consistency throughout the disc.... Stryper - Against the Law...( I know I saw I put Against the Love...... sigh.... I was seeing if I could change it...)

Their heaviest disc since the EP in my opinion... I CRANKED THIS THING....

All are great, but Faith Hope Love has staying power that the others just don't have, other than Against the Law, which was a close second. Tough to just pick one.

Believer for me man. This album is awesome.
King's X definately 2nd and I suppose Vengeance after that

I voted Tourniquet Stop the Bleeding. It's one of the best albums of all time, in any genre.

If Tourniquet were not on this list, I could have easily given my vote to King's X, Deliverance or Believer, whose albums are all pretty much unbelievably superior to most other stuff out there. This was a GREAT year for metal.

No contest for me. Weapons is still one of my favorite albums and broke christian thrash onto MTV. I love many of those other albums but that one just hits on all cylinders.

Weapons by far, although there are some great albums on that list.

Sacred Warrior - Wicked Generation
Vengeance Rising - Once Dead
Deliverance- WOOW
Believer- Sanity Obscure

if you had said Dimensions instead of Sanity Obscure i would have gone Believer.

I am partial to Stop the bleeding since it was one of the first metal albums i had on cassette tape

Very hard... could've been either Tourniquet, Deliverance or Sacred Warrior. I went with Sacred Warrior by a hair's-breadth.

Some of my all-time favorite Christian metal releases right there. I went with Weapons of our Warfare, but easily could have picked any Once Dead, Behind Enemy Lines, Stop the Bleeding, Sanity Obscure...

Very tough... had to go with King's X this time... Faith Hope Love is their best. Second for me is a tie between Sacred Warrior, Believer, and Deliverance
