King's X for me Twisted Evil

This album is just awesome.
Powerful, passionate, heavy, unique, timeless.

A lot of seriously good albums here. I voted for Human Sacrifice, but it was only after barely ruling out Rebellion, which was just fantastic.

I went with Neon Cross by a nosehair over Stryper, which barely beat out Shout.

Sacred Warrior - "Rebellion"

IMHO, the best Christian metal album of the eighties.

But a lot of tough choices...

I went with Stryper. In 1988, I hadn't even heard of the rest of those bands. It would be two more years before I would even learn that there were more Christian bands out there besides Stryper.

Very tough choice. I almost went with Barren Cross, but Saint won out.

Had to go with Vengeance Rising, however King's X & Sacred Warrior are up there high on my list as well.

I bought Sacred Warrior and Vengeance at the same time....They both were played heaps and heaps but i'd slightly favour SW.

This was close but went with Human Sacrifice.Atomic Arena and Rebellion are very close though.Great year for christian metal!

Wow... lots of good albums here. I voted for Sacred Warrior ...but Saint, Vengeance, Barren Cross, and King's X could easily have been my first choice here depending on how I'm feeling at the moment.
However, my favourite from 1988 didn't make it on the list: Bride - Live to Die

You'll have to forgive me as that album should've been on that list.... Last night after I went to bed I acutally started to wonder if I rememberd to put it on...

Call it a write in Vote.... As much as I love Jerusalem I would've removed them and put Bride in their place. The first time I saw Bride was at the HIS Festival in Fontana. Absolutely brilliant show for that tour...

Man that was a really tough pick. I went with Saint, but just as easily could have picked Neon Cross, Barren Cross or Sacred Warrior. What a great year for music.

Yeah without a doubt... 1988 the flood gates trully opened!! I was working in a Bible Bookstore at the time that would pride itself on the music department. We had a lot and stuff and our goal was to have it all!

I voted for Vengeance of Course! That would be followed by Barren Cross, Sacred Warrior, King's X, Neon Cross and Rez.

Back in the day Intense records had a hotline you could call and isten to samples of the up coming albums by Vengenace and Sacred Warrior. I ran up a 25 dollar phone bill one week!
