Mortal's album "Fathom", if you can get it....

Oh man, I can't believe I forgot that one! One of my favorite albums ever. But it doesn't sound anything like Fear Factory. Still very good metallic industrial, though.

I heart Mortal. Fathom and Lusis rule. Lama

It amazes me how most Mortal fans only like their first two albums, and a scant few like Nu-En-Jin. Nu-En-Jin would've been EXPONENTIALLY better had the band worked with Christian Erickson of globalwavesystem instead of Joey Belville of the Echoing Green. globalwavesystem's Life Equals Death is SOOO much better in every conceivable way if you like that approach to Industrial.

While Fathom and Lusis are exemplary, Nu-En-Jin, Pura, Wake, the self-titled, and Godspeed likewise are the shibby. I even picked up Fold Zandura and Juggernautz. While not as good as their Mortal works, they still find their way into my music rotation.Lama

Godspeed is just a 'best of.' I doubt we'll ever see Mortal resurface again. Jyro was in another band called Lucena a few years ago. Looks like they disbanded already.

Here's the link to globalwavesystem's MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/globalwavesystem The remix of 'Yukionna' by Heart of Darkness is excellent!

I had a globalwavesystem album back in the day. They covered Larry Norman's "Watch What You're Doing."

Really? What release was that? We reviewed all of their releases and that song isn't on the tracklists for any of them.

Globalwavesystem had more than one release? I have Life=Death, but I thought that was their only one. I have to be in the mood for them, but I enjoy listening to that disc from time to time.

The second release was put out by Flaming Fish Music in 1998. It's called HypercritEP. The others were indie demos & very hard to find now.

I'd get Nu En Jin if I could find a pressing of it at amazon.

I bet Rad Rockers bought them all up. They were really easy to find just a few years ago.

Thanks for the tip. I'll be picking it up when I get some more disposable income...yeah, I'm that poor.

Good luck finding an inexpensive copy of either Lusis or Fathom.

Three copies of Lusis under $8 on Amazon right now.

I forgot to say that Klank--Still Suffering is actually probably the closest to Fear Factory. Forgot that one as well on my list.

Get ready to defecate when you hear Coriolis' cover of 'What a Joke' on the Deliverance tribute album! His new guitarist is amazing!

A few years ago, Klank was supposed to start up some sort of side project with Larvae from R & D, but I guess it fizzled out. I don't know anything about what the other members are up to, sorry.

That is cool, What about Sherri?

Have you heard of a project called Dark Valentine? Someone told me that they thought that was her new band.

www.myspace.com/darkvalentineofsweden

Sheri and Simon are also in another band called Iron Sceptre.

I just got the DV CD the other day, have only scanned through it so far, it does have some industrial elements to it.

I have the Escape the Furnace comp, very good, also have a few by Mental Destruction.
