Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum. I have just recently renewed my fellowship with Jesus and what led me to do so was Becoming The Archetype's music. I had been a fan of theirs for a while. As well as a fan of bands like Living Sacrifice, The Showdown, As I Lay Dying, Demon Hunter, and Mortal Treason. Although it wasn't until I heard the album "Dichotomy" by Becoming The Archetype that I really started rethinking my life and thinking about Jesus again. I feel great sense making the changes although I'm still working on some.

Anyways enough with my story. Does anyone here think Becoming The Archetype is a huge influence in Christian metal besides me? lol.

Those are all good bands IMO. I've a rather short attention span for the metalcore amongst them, but they do it well IMO.

Big BTA fan here as well as the last two by The Showdown and Demon Hunter. I think BTA gets respect in both the christian music arena as well as secular as shown by Deven Townsend working on the latest album.

"Dichotomy" is one of my all time favs. I've been spinning that one a lot lately. In that genre, they are about one of the only bands I like. Their lyrics are well written. Also big a fan of The Showdown and Demon Hunter.

im also new here. BTA is a great band, they have 3 great albums

Welcome to the realm! BTA is very good! One of my good friends played the drums on Dichotomy (Brandon Lopez). You should check out his band Broken Flesh. You can find them on myspace. They are brutal! His lead singer/guitarist is formally from the band Obliteration (Kevin Tubby).

I rather enjoy all the bands you mentioned, and yes. BTA pretty much rules

Welcome! Good to hear BTA helped you renew your faith - sometimes "Christian" metal can "feed the body" after all!

BtA are friends of mine since I filled in on guitar w/Aletheian back in Summer '07 and did a quick little tour with them. I mentioned this post and Seth was very pleased to hear about it.

I love BTA too, they are coming to Greenville SC in mid August. I had a chance to meet them at a CD listening Party for "Dichotomy" . They are very Christ like in how they conduct themselves

My favorite BTA song is How Great Thou Art. It's an awesome adaption to the traditional hymn. EPIC!
