| Listening to this disc this very moment-The Unsuspecting is blaring. This album still kicks butt!!! Barren Cross ALWAYS delivered the goods. Too bad this album came out smack dab in the midst of the grunge movement. Rattle Your Cage should have received more recognition than what it received. I have been into "Christian rock/metal" since 1982. Petra was my "first love" of the genre, then Daniel Band, then Stryper, and then Barren Cross came along. I must say that Barren Cross became my favorite band back in the heyday of metal. I sure wish the BC boys could patch up whatever spiritual differences they may have and feed the hungry with another album. Of course, I know that's in the LORD's hands. If you haven't spun Rattle Your Cage in a while, do yourself a favor and crank that bad boy up! |

| Great cd. Loved every song on it. This was actually the first Barren Cross cd I owned until I later found Atomic Arena & State of Control at a used cd store |

| I think it's the best thing that Rugged Records put out. |

| It's my favorite Barren Cross album. No doubt because it's the closest to hair metal that they ever got, but every song on here is fantastic. I love the more AOR sound without the classic metal overtones. _________________ Love Bomb Baby!

| This is also the first Barren Cross release that I owned. I do like the more commercial shift that they made on the last two projects. But, even the worst Barren Cross is better than a lot of others best stuff1 As far as this album goes, I really love the title track, "Midnight Son", and "Here I Am". It is rare for me to love the slow song from an album as my favorite, but I would have to say that "Here I Am" is my favorite song of theirs. I find a lot of healing in that powerful song. _________________ "I have no desire to speak w/other tongues, I already do enough damage w/the one I have!!" - Candlemass |

| I really like the other ballad, "Let it Go Let It Die". That whole album is a winner, though. Probably my 2nd favorite BC album. |

| BAH! ...technically, 1994 was the death rattle of the grunge movement, but yeah, oft overlooked and underrated classic... ...tell the truth, I honestly thought, with this and the other releases the label had that year, that Rugged Records was going to be a heavyweight in the classic hard rock genre...alas, it became yet another sad "alternative" label... _________________ |

| Really cool album! but the other three records blow it away in my opinion. I think "somewhere far away" could have been a raging ballad if they gave it another minute or so... |

| Great album. Definitely would have done better a year or two earlier. I though I remember one song from this album that Mike Lee redid that was just horrible. "The Unsuspecting" maybe? |

| I thought the same thing about Rugged Records. They had Barren Cross, Neon Cross, Nailed, Red Sea those were some great bands |

| On a somewhat related note, is it just me or did the Rugged Records albums have the most godawful covers you've ever seen? |

| Great disc that I still pull out. In fact, this might be the one I listen to the most. Arttie _________________ Constitutional separation of church and state is a lie; it is a figment of the secular-progressive's imagination.

They were all computer generated images, weren't they? Yeah, didn't like 'em at all. I enjoyed RYC, particularly the diversity of styles and tempos on the album, but loved the traditional sounds of Midnight Son and the anthemic Here I Am the most. It's a very good album, but not in the same league as the first three. |

haha! I think it had more to do with the time, you'll notice all those records from the mid/later 90's had very primitive digital made covers....some of the later deliverance album art comes to mind. |
