| This is a Christian power metal band from Brazil.
They have one album out called Darkness And Light. Another album is 'on tap' to be released this year, sooner than later. No 'official' release date yet, though. It is called Skeleton's Domination.
I like this band a lot. They are 'tight' and the musicianship is good. The lyrics on a couple songs are blatantly Christian and the rest of the lyrics on the album are 'safe' for a believer if the person is concerned about that sort of thing.
BTW the band name of SCELERATA is said thus:
At the beginning the *S* is 'silent' and the *C* is 'soft'. At the end the *TA* is 'silent'. So one ends up with, "Seller--Rah".
This is a linkie to their website, in English:

| Had it. Gave it away for free. Just couldn't get into it. The vocals had a very strong accent if I remember correctly. _________________ "It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not."

Points: 1. Music opinions. Some like stuff. Some don't. 2. The vocals?? Accent?? Interesting. None. Zero. _________________ "The 'farce' is strong with Obama-Wan." words of Scourge.

| Scott, the location 'from' means nothing in particular. I was just saying where they are from for infos sake. _________________ "The 'farce' is strong with Obama-Wan." words of Scourge.

| There is no accent? I must have been thinking about another band I received along with that one last year. Either way I know it fell flat. Is it pretty speedy? That might have been what turned me off if it was all rapid paced. _________________ "It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not."

None. Zero. Then Norm said:

That is all extremely subjective. "Pretty speedy" is just too subjective IMO. However, i'll take it as you've stated it and just say that it sounds like good power metal to me. Dude......it's not speed metal. Straight up and straight ahead power metal. _________________ "The 'farce' is strong with Obama-Wan." words of Scourge.

| Weird. I just can't seem to remember this band. I might look up their myspace page or something later and see if I can figure out why I got rid of that one. I know there was something about it that didn't click with me. _________________ "It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not."

| I found them and I remember them clearly now. They were good but just not really my thing anymore. A few years ago I probably would have liked it a bit more. It is decent power metal. Most of the songs have that fast galloping drum style that kinda drives me nutso. _________________ "It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not."

| Thanks GW for the info - I didn't knew this band. They sound pretty promising. I especially like the guitar work and overall musicianship. The vocals are pretty good as well though - oftenly a problem with brasilian bands. Only the voac lines/melodies could be better IMO. The new album's samples sound promising and like a step forward.
Here's another version of the homepage with samples of "Skeleton's Dominion":

And their myspace site: http://www.myspace.com/scelerataband
I like the karaoke version of Leave me alone - in fact I like it better than the version with vocals |
