God the Father, who alone is Good, can judge perfectly. We cannot, who are not Good.
That was actually the sin of Satan.. believing he was Good, instead of God the Father... and with it he fell.
Because once a being believes it is Good, it takes on the power of judgment upon itself.. which is God's alone to wield.
Hell is the abode of the Good, Heaven is the abode of the Righteous.
Goodness and Righteousness are two separate matters.
AS Christians, we are called to be righteous, not Good.
Righteousness is Knowing that you are not Good and only God is.
For Christ himself spoke.. " why do you cal me good? do you not know that only the father in heaven is good?" - paraphrasing.
Do you call yourself Good, when even Christ did not?
Learn from Christ and become Free from the penalty of believing you are Good, which is Death.
Become free from Good ( and thereby the Law and Sin) through Righteousness, as Christ taught us.

I think it's perfecftly alright to hate the enemy of our soul.
Hell is not the abode of the good, it is the abode of the wicked dead. Only God is good, so any abode where He is not present is not good. None of us are good. The people who are in hell right now have rejected God.
As for satan being cast out of heaven for thinking he was good, that is not biblical. He tried to usurp God Almighty. Here is what the bible says about satan's fall in Isaiah 14:12-15:
12 How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
13 You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.
14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High."
15 But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit. |

Correct, people reject God because they believe they are Good.
And a person who thinks himself Good, does not need God in teh same manner as a person who knows that he is not and doesn't have to be. .

Ponder this- How does one get to the point of wanting to Usurp God's place?
Answer- one MUST first believe that they are Good, and therefore are worthy to be their own god.
No one ever does anything for the Sake of Evil... even Satan did what he did because he believe it was Good that he should be exalted in such a way.
Evil is always commited for the sake of "Good".. False Good.
For example.. you will find that the more wicked a man is.. the less Bad he finds himself to be.
And also, the more RIghteous a man is.. the more he discovers Himself not to be Good at all.
A good man is good, because he knows he is bad.
A bad man is bad because he thinks that he is good.
