This is one that has carried me through all the struggles we've had with my dad and his stroke back in Aug.:

Quote:
Psalm 93:4

4 But mightier than the violent raging of the seas,
mightier than the breakers on the shore—
the Lord above is mightier than these!

Nowhere in the verse do you see God promising healing or anything, really. So how did I find comfort in this? I felt like God was just reminding me that no matter what happened that He was bigger than that. My worries were big, and inside I felt that raging of the sea, but God is bigger.

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. Romans 13:8 (NIV)

Don't really have a verse but Romans 5 is my favorite passage.

Sorry, you'll have to look it up.

Probably have to be Romans 8:1:

"1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,"

If you stop and think of the staggering implications of this verse in light of the entire Old Testament sacrificial system it will blow your mind.

2nd Corinthians 10-4 & 5 Weapons of our warfare. after hours of meditating on this scripture I have been able to achieve victory in my thought life. which is extremly important because that is where sin is birthed.

Several verses.

John 20: 24-31 from the NKJV (my everyday reading Bible).

24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.

25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!”

27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

30 And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book;

31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

I was like Thomas. From agnosticism, with a healthy dose of logical--positivism, to faith in CHRIST. GOD reached out to me where I was at mentally......and proved the truth of HIS existence through HIS Bible.....and HIS SON.

My favorites happen to be...

Matthew...

4:10, 11 - 10 Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.' 11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

5:27, 28 - 27 "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Proverbs...

26:11 - As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.

21:9 - Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.

I think my absolute favorite would be this one though...

Luke 24:38-43

38 There was a written notice above him, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

38 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"

40 But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."

42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."

43 Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

That last verse especially...

One night I was feeling extremely far from God, and nervous that I would never be able to make it to His kingdom. I asked Him, "God, am I going to be able to make it? If I died today, would I have done what it takes to be with you? Would I be with you in Paradise?" I opened up the good book to a random page, and yup, you guessed it, right to that last verse. I couldn't help but tear up. I relate to that criminal so strongly, as I'm sure we all could. I've done so many wrong things, and I deserve to be cast away for them, but He has grace upon me... And don't even get me started on the people that insult God Evil or Very Mad... But yes... I absolutely love that passage. I love you study I love you

I LOVE the other verses as well Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil I have more, but I think this is enough of my favorites for now. study
